ABOUT ME

Well, there ain't no use in denying it...Im a geek.  Always have been, and I suspect always will be even though this dang carpal tunnel syndrome seems to be getting the best of me lately.  I suppose I do it out of necessity as well.  Skills and Bills and all of that.  I have been working on a computer since the early days of tape recorders being used as a way of saving data... aah the good ole days when it took 8 hours to save a program.  I remember when the tape got replaced with the large floppy.  Wow I thought, times are a changing. 

I heard someone at the local watering hole where I live say that the internet was evil.  I laughed pretty hard at that one.  I suppose there are people who intimidated by it all, they must feel left behind so instead of keeping their opinions to themselves they have to make it a negative thing... I guess on some level I can understand that too.  We just follow our human programming.   

Moving out here from Georgia a few years back made me really appreciate the internet.  Besides my dog Cupid,  who I have been partnered up with for years, it helped keep me sane socially.  The town where I live is pretty small, 150 people counting cats and dogs.  Folks around here don't take to kindly it seems to newcomers, and if your from a city, that goes doubly. They think that new people will try to change this strange and beautiful place. Not a lot of young people live here, unless they are from here, mostly older retired folks move here, or people come back here after having fished or camped or visited it many years ago, and they sigh in relief knowing that it hasn't changed too much.  I would too. All I know is this place is perfect the way it is.  I hope to die  here.  Nothing can compete with this place for me.  If I go away, I find myself wanting to get back.  The Salmon River sits in my backyard and when I wake up it's there, always there. As an artist, both digitally and traditionally, this place helps my creative spirit to speak.  Yes, I love my computer.  I love my dog.  I love my man.  I love this place.  I love to create art.  Not necessarily in that order.  So that's basically me, just a peace lovin computin kinda girl.  I don't really care too much for people either so it's just as well that I am what I am.

Oh one more thing.. URL (as in gURL) is the abbreviated term for Uniform Resource Locator.  That's basically means 'Web Address' - as in www.whatsyourwebaddress.com   I really do have to explain this on account of a lot of people don't get that...I hate it when I try to be clever and it goes unnoticed.
